SUMMARY: Administers human resources activities including but not limited to employee hiring practices and benefit plans. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responds to employee’s benefit questions, resolves problems regarding access to or payment of benefits, orients newly eligible employees, and processes enrollment forms and change request (includes medical and 401k)
  • Maintains employee files.
  • Responds to unemployment and disability claims.
  • Handles verification of employment requests.
  • Handles onboarding and offboarding of employees.
  • Assures required labor law posters are in place.
  • Responses to Human Resources emails in a timely manner.
  • Maintains and orders supplies for the human resources department as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, and/or recent military experience
  • 0-2 years of experience in related field
  • Internship or prior work experience in human resources, payroll, or customer service preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications.  Ability to write reports and business correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
